Easy purchase, nice drum

So, I decided to finally get one of those steel tongue drums I've been eyeing. Ended up on Chroma Drum's site and picked out a Chroma Steel Tongue Drum. The website was super easy to use, no confusing stuff. It got here pretty fast, like, in about 5 days to Florida. It sounds really nice and relaxing, exactly what I was hoping for. I also bought a Microfiber Cleaning Cloth because, you know, gotta keep it shiny. No drama with the order, just a smooth experience all around. Definitely happy with it.

Quick shipping, good quality

Ordered a Pygmy Scale Handpan. Shipped fast, arrived in 3 days. The instrument is well-made. Sound is clear. Came with a free Handpan Stand. No complaints.

Good value on a Handpan

I was looking for a new instrument and saw Chroma Drum had a sale on their handpans. I grabbed a D Minor Handpan during their summer sale, and it was a solid deal. The price was significantly lower than competitors like RAV Vast, and it came with a Padded Handpan Bag, which saved me some extra cash. Shipping took about a week to get to my place in Ohio, which was fine. For the price, the sound quality is impressive, really resonant. Overall, it felt like a smart purchase and good value for what I paid.

Anyone know if the Black Friday deals are usually pretty good for the more expensive handpans? Like, can you get $100 off or is it more like 10%?

D Derek 1 month ago

Last Black Friday, I saw some deals around $50-$100 off on the high-end handpans. It's usually their best sale time.

D Dan Foster 1 month ago

Yeah, for the bigger holiday sales like Black Friday or Christmas, they tend to have better discounts than just the newsletter sign-up. Definitely worth waiting for if you can.

Is Chroma Drum an actual legitimate company? I keep seeing their ads but haven't heard much about them outside of that.

S Sam Brooks 2 months ago

Yeah, they're legit. I bought a tongue drum from them about six months ago and it's fantastic. Handmade stuff, really good quality.

A Anna Marsh 2 months ago

Totally legit. They specialize in handpans and tongue drums, really high quality instruments. I've bought accessories from them before, good stuff.

how long does shipping usually take for a handpan to, say, California? trying to figure out if it'll get here by a specific date.

J James D. 1 month ago

For California, I'd say maybe 5-7 business days, give or take. Mine took about a week to get to Oregon.

R Ryan Marsh 1 month ago

It can vary a bit, but usually, it's pretty quick within the US. I got my tongue drum in about 5 days when I ordered it to LA. Might depend on current stock too.

Hey all, quick question about the first-time buyer discount. Is that usually an automatic thing or do I need to sign up for their newsletter or something to get a code?

S Sophie 2 months ago

I think you usually get a pop-up for the newsletter signup, and they'll send you a code for your first purchase.

M Megan 2 months ago

Yeah, I signed up for their emails and got a code for 10% off my first order. It's usually the newsletter thing.

what's the deal with promo codes? can i use one if there's already a sale happening on the site?

N Nina Q. 2 months ago

Nah, usually you can't stack them. Most promo codes are for single use and don't combine with other sales.

C Cleo Carter 1 month ago

I tried to combine a coupon with a holiday sale once, and it didn't work. Their system only lets you use one discount at a time, from what I've seen.

Thinking about getting a Chroma Drum handpan, but also looking at RAV Vast. Has anyone tried both and can tell me if there's a big difference in sound or quality?

L Laura 2 months ago

I've played both! RAV Vast has a slightly more mellow, almost 'wet' tone, while Chroma Drum feels a bit brighter and more resonant to me. Both are good quality, just depends on the sound you prefer.

R Ryan 2 months ago

They're both solid, honestly. Chroma Drum handpans are really well made, and I find the sustain on them to be excellent. RAV Vast is also great but has a distinct sound, so definitely check out some sound demos of both before deciding.

Hey, I'm looking at getting one of the handpans, specifically a D Minor. Does anyone know if they ship to Canada? I'm in Toronto.

W Wendy 1 month ago

Yeah, they do ship internationally. I'm pretty sure I saw it on their FAQ page when I was checking out for my order last month.

T Tara 1 month ago

They definitely ship to Canada, I got my tongue drum delivered to Montreal a few months back. Just expect it to take a little longer than domestic shipping.

wondering about returns on these. if i get a handpan and it just doesn't feel right, is it easy to send it back?

W Wendy C. 1 month ago

I returned a tongue drum last year, no issues. They have a pretty standard return policy, just make sure you check the timeframe.

S Sophie Whitfield 1 month ago

From what I remember, you have a certain number of days to return it. As long as it's in good condition, it should be fine. I'd quickly glance at their return policy page for the exact details though.
